The idol at the temple is of Lord Hanuman (Anjaneya) is enshrined with its hands folded in the Anjali pose. There is a huge lamp stand of about 20 feet high . It is donated by Sri Vadi Kesari Alagiya Manavala Jeeyar Swamigal, the Kanchi Arya. The devotees use this lamp stand to fulfill their vow made to the deity of Tirupati. In addition, every day, over 1 Lakh coconuts are broken at front of the temple. Legend has it Lord Hanuman in his youthful age wanted to leave Tirumala, in search of a camel. This forced his mother Anjana Devi to tie his hands with cuffs and order him to stay in that place till she returned. However, it is believed that Anjana Devi stayed back in Akasa Ganga area and never returned to this place. Hence, the icon of Lord Hanuman in this temple will be seen in a unique form where both his hands were handcuffed .

Swami Pushkarini Lake neighboring the Sri Venkateshwara Temple, is Swami Pushkarini Lake. According to the legends, the lake belonged to Lord Vishnu and was located in Vaikuntham. It was brought to the earth by Garuda, for the sport of Sri Venkateshwara. Extremely holy, the pilgrims usually take a dip in the waters of this lake before proceeding to the main temple.

Akasaganga Teertham is a waterfall in Tirupati, located at a distance of 3 km from the main temple. The waterfall has water flowing all throughout the year and holds immense religious significance. Pilgrims can also pay homage to the Devi temple situated very close to the waterfall. During the monsoons, the waterfall is a beautiful sight to the eyes.
